May 4th, 1-4pm: Live durational painting demonstration, artist walkthrough, and reception!

Join us to be wowed and celebrate the book end of our inaugural Earth Week Celebration!

The heat maps push the boundaries of abstract painting while exploring the intersections of art and science. They expose the unequal distribution of green space in New York City. The pieces are made on location in areas considered to be ‘urban heat islands’ that pose health hazards because they lack adequate tree canopy and plant cover.

Originally conceived and realized with the support of a NYFA Current 2023 Grant, this iteration features a score composed by Leyna M. Papach.

Free with museum admission.
