We are announcing the cancellation of World Maker Faire 2019, which had been scheduled to occur at NYSCI on September 21-22. The cancellation is due to the financial difficulties facing Maker Media, our partner in producing the event since 2010.

This is a very difficult decision to make, but there is no other option at this time. While it is not possible to produce World Maker Faire at NYSCI in September, we hope it is not the end of Maker Faire. There may be other ways we can continue to bring this exceptional event to New York, but it will take time to figure out.

The maker movement already has, and will continue to have, a vibrant home at NYSCI. We were fortunate to have such a wonderful partnership with Dale Dougherty and Maker Media for the past decade. We wish Dale the best as he decides what’s next for Maker Media.

We also want to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all the sponsors, crew, and most of all, the makers themselves, who were instrumental, yet indispensable in making World Maker Faire the unique and inspiring experience that it was. We couldn’t have done it without you.
