Innovation Camps
The New York Hall of Science offers Innovation Camps each summer with unique themes for children to explore STEM concepts and skills through fun hands-on activities that spark curiosity, creativity, and collaboration. This summer, NYSCI will offer a week-long camp for children ages 6-7 and for children ages 8-9 from August 14-18.
Animal Discovery & Design (Ages 6-7)
August 14-18, 9am-3pm
Campers will engage in hands-on activities that demonstrate amazing animal adaptations found in insects, reptiles, mammals, and birds. Then they will apply that knowledge to solve a series of design challenges that will help an animal or inspire a new invention. They can design prosthetics to help an injured bird, create a prototype for a new paragliding suit or build a better spider web. Live creatures will be featured including Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches!
