Wildcard Weekend: WoodBots!

(Wood + Simple Hand Tools x Elastic) / You = Wooden Robots!

Everyone loves robots and electronics but what about their more natural analog cousins: WoodBots? A WoodBot is a poseable robot made out of wood. For one weekend only, learn how to use simple hand tools like saws and drills to make your own WoodBot. Then incorporate some high-tech elastic technology to make it poseable.

Workshops are recommended for ages 7 and older, and cost $5 per adult/child pair, plus NYSCI admission. (Members: $3 per adult/child pair.) Register on the day of the event at the NYSCI admissions area. If you have any questions about Maker Space programming, email Reid at rbingham@nysci.org.

Wildcard Weekend: WoodBots will take place on the following days:

Saturday August 16: 1:30 – 3 pm & 3:30 – 5 pm
Sunday August 17: 1:30 – 3 pm & 3:30 – 5 pm

Wildcard Weekend: WoodBots will take place in Maker Space. Maker Space is made possible thanks to an investment by Cognizant through its Making the Future education initiative.
