An exclusive screening of Nora Poggi’s groundbreaking film, She Started It, which sparks a critical discussion about young women entrepreneurs.
Now in our fifth year, this annual event continues the conversation of how we can work together creatively and effectively to support girls and young women in the pursuit of STEM subjects and careers. Join leaders, executives, philanthropists, researchers, artists, educators and students for a private screening of She Started It, Nora Poggi’s documentary film on women tech entrepreneurs, that aims to highlight successful role models for young women. It is the first film to show the behind the scenes of running a tech start-up as a young woman.
NYSCI recognizes the critical need for more diversity, inclusion, and representation in all STEM fields, which is why we created this event in 2014 to serve as a conversation starter and idea igniter. We’re proud to be a part of the solution through the various programs we offer at the museum.
This event is hosted by NYSCI’s President’s Council. Members of the President’s Council act as partners in NYSCI’s mission to engage the New York City community through groundbreaking exhibitions, stimulating programs and educational activities, helping advance STEM learning throughout the city and across the globe. Their support helps transform the museum into a learning laboratory and provides unmatched resources for aspiring young scientists, teachers and students.
