Loading Events

Build a thumb piano at this Maker Space workshop. Also known as a kalimba or a mbira, a thumb piano is a handheld African musical instrument that you play with your thumbs. After learning how to use basic wood working tools to build the thumb piano, you can then experiment with different objects and materials to create all sorts of melodic and percussive sounds.
Recommended for ages 7 and older. $10 per adult/child pair. (Members: $8 per adult/child pair.)
Make Music: Build a Thumb Piano will be held at 1:30 and 3:30 pm. Each session lasts approximately 1 1/2 hours.

This workshop will take place in Maker Space. Maker Space is made possible thanks to an investment by Cognizant through its Making the Future education initiative.
