Bilingual Science Demonstrations in English & Spanish

Where: Lower Level Demonstration Area

Tiny Investigations, 11am

Get up close and personal with everyday objects under our 960x magnified digital microscope. Examine some of our samples or bring something to share. You never know what you’ll discover when your investigations go tiny!

Cool Chemistry, 1pm

Be amazed at how we can make ice in seconds, shrink balloons without removing the air inside, and create an instant cloud with liquid nitrogen! This demonstration showcases the fascinating world of phases of matter.

Cultural Performances in Rocket Park

12-12:30pm: Kacia Flores, a Colombian-Ecuadorian Queens native singer-songwriter, whose music is inspired by folkloric rhythms of Latin America.

1:30-2pm: Experience the rich cultural music of Mexico with Mariachi Nuevo Amanecer! Their mission is to preserve Mexico's rich musical heritage while empowering youth activism in their communities.

2-2:30pm:
Explore the lively beats of Cumbia music, celebrated across Latin America. Join Mark Saldana for an introduction to the dynamic realm of Cumbia dance in a fun setting perfect for the whole family!

Make your own spring-themed bandana using natural dyes and pigments from flowers and plants provided by the local community.

Design Lab: 10am - 5pm
