Director and Chief Content Officer
Eric Siegel is director and chief content officer at NYSCI where he leads the program, exhibition development, science and technology functions. He has been in senior roles in art and science museums for over 30 years and has published extensively in the museum field. He teaches on the graduate faculty of the New York University museum studies program and ITP media/arts program. As a consultant, he has worked with They Might Be Giants, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the National Endowment for the Arts and many other organizations. He is past president of the National Association for Museum Exhibitions; board member of SolarOne, an urban environmental organization in New York City; and past chairman of the Museums Council of New York City. He is a lifelong musician who has composed music for dance, for network and cable television, and for concerts. He currently performs actively on piano and guitar. In 2014, Eric was awarded the Roy L. Shafer Leading Edge Award for Exceptional Leadership in the Field by the Association of Science – Technology Centers (ASTC).
