The fourth-annual World Maker Faire returns September 21-22, 2013.

A festival of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, World Maker Faire showcases what people are making and provides a forum to learn by sharing knowledge and experience. 600 makers will exhibit their projects in addition to performance, demonstrations and a speaker roster including authors, innovators, and leading thinkers in the Maker movement.

Open rain or shine. Requires purchase of a World Maker Faire ticket.

Hours:  Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Tickets

Tickets are available NOW. Tickets will also be available on-site on September 21 and 22. NYSCI members get the best discounts on World Maker Faire tickets.

Admission on September 21 and 22 requires purchase of a World Maker Faire ticket. ASTC, ACM, Cool Culture, New York Pass, corporate partner memberships, online promotions, free passes and other partner passes will not be honored during World Maker Faire.

What to Expect

Directions for Maker Faire Parking

From Long Island – LIE west

Exit 22 A – Grand Central Pkwy West

Take GCP west, take first exit 9P

At stop sign turn left. Drive under bridge, take right before 2nd bridge.  Lot entrance will be on the right.

 

From Long Island – Grand Central Pkwy west

Exit 9P

At stop sign turn left. Drive under bridge, take right before 2nd bridge.  Lot entrance will be on the right.

 

From Brooklyn using Belt Parkway

Belt Parkway – East to Van Wyck Expressway.

On Van Wyck, drive about 4 miles, then stay to the left at split and take Grand Central Pkwy west .

Exit 9P

At stop sign turn left. Drive under bridge, take right turn before 2nd bridge.  Lot entrance will be on the right.

 

From Brooklyn using BQE  (also use this for Manhattan coming over lower east river bridge crossings)

BQE – East to LIE East

Exit 22 E for Grand Central Pkwy West

From GCP take exit 9P

At stop sign turn left. Drive under bridge, take right before 2nd bridge.  Lot entrance will be on the right.

 

From Manhattan – Midtown Tunnel

LIE – East

Exit 22 E for Grand Central Pkwy West

From GCP take exit 9P

At stop sign turn left. Drive under bridge, take right before 2nd bridge.  Lot entrance will be on the right.

 

From Manhattan – using 59th St Bridge

59th Street Bridge (Edward Koch/Queensboro bridge)

Follow signs to LGA/JFK and LIE

Take LIE – East

Exit 22 E for Grand Central Pkwy West

From GCP take exit 9P

At stop sign turn left. Drive under bridge, take right before 2nd bridge.  Lot entrance will be on the right.

 

From RFK (Triboro) Bridge

Bronx –western areas

Manhattan Upper West Side

Manhattan Upper East side

Northern New Jersey via GW (George Washington) Bridge

Westchester County – via Saw Mill Pkwy, Major Deegan – I 87 south, and Bronx River Pkwy south.

 

After bridge, stay on Grand Central Pkwy East

Exit 9E for Northern Blvd toward 25A

Stay on service road to right, follow signs for Worlds Fair/Marina/Citi Field

At end of service road, take Shea road on right (will make almost a U turn)

Stay on Shea, go under first bridge, then turn left, follow road to left, lot is on right.

 

From Whitestone Bridge

Stay on right on Whitestone Exp

Exit 13D Northern Blvd

After light, turn right towards marina.

Turn left under the bridge to traffic light.

Turn right (Shea Road).

Stay on Shea, go under first bridge, then turn left, follow road to left, lot is on right.

 

Use Whitestone Bridge directions for:

Bronx – east side

Westchester County – (east side of county

Connecticut

Take Hutchinson River Pkwy South or I 95 South to bridge.

 

From NYSCI – 111th Street.

Go north on 111 St

Right on Roosevelt Ave

Take 2nd right, lot entrance is on the left. Or continue on Roosevelt to lot entrance on right.
