Make It: Build A Box

Every day until June 22, 2014

In this new woodworking workshop, learn how to build a beautiful wooden box, complete with hinges and magnetic locks. Learn basic woodworking skills like using a hammer and nails, a dovetail saw and a power drill, as well as how to do things like properly measure, modify and hack their creations to include things like secret compartments, clasps or handles. Recommended for ages 7 and older. $10 per child/adult pair, plus NYSCI admission. (Members: $8 per child/adult pair.) Register on the day of the event at the NYSCI admissions area. If you have any questions about Makerspace programming, email Reid at rbingham@nysci.org.

June 7 & 8: 1:30 – 3 pm & 3:30 – 5 pm
June 15: 1:30 – 3 pm & 3:30 – 5 pm
June 21 & 22: 1:30 – 3 pm & 3:30 – 5 pm
June 29: 1:30 – 3 pm & 3:30 – 5 pm

Make It: Build A Box will take place in Maker Space. Maker Space is made possible thanks to an investment by Cognizant through its Making the Future education initiative.
