Con Edison’s STEM Days Out

Title 1 public middle schools in New York City are eligible to participate in Con Edison’s STEM Days Out, a free program that aims to stimulate interest among children in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). The program will be held at NYSCI monthly, through May 2017.

Students who participate in Con Edison’s STEM Days Out at NYSCI will engage in a full day of learning including a facilitated group session in Connected Worlds, NYSCI’s groundbreaking exhibition on environmental sustainability. Participating students will be challenged to discover how animals and plants depend on each other and their habitats to survive, and how changes in one part of the environment impact the stability of the entire system. To complement this exhibition, students will have the opportunity to watch National Geographic’s new movie Extreme Weather I in NYSCI’s 3D theater. The movie will uncover the surprising connections among collapsing glaciers, wildfires and tornados.
